With the paving pattern commands you can indicate a paving pattern. The commands do not consider joints but that doesn't mean it's impossible to create them. By default the command draws the pattern with lines. You can however set the command to create closed polylines for each element in the pattern. This allows you to apply the 'Offset Multiple to Inside' command. This command will offset all closed polylines to the inside creating space between the polylines and thus suggesting a joint.
