Offset is a useful command to create parallel linear entities. With the 'Offset Multiple to Point' command you can select several linear entities at once. After you confirmed the selection you only have to pick one point and all offsets will be made towards that point. You can also choose to offset away from the picked point. You can choose a layer on which the offsets have to be placed and you can let the command erase the original entities right away.
